Hello dear friends!!

Um....

I'm not dead, I swear. I know I haven't posted in OVER a week and that is a hideous thing but... I'm still around. The past week and a half has been filled with (drumroll please!) JOB HUNTING!!!! ... my least favorite thing to do. Oh well. In other news, I've started my summer courses. Yoga is amazing and... creative writing is confusing because of the lack of instruction but... I'll figure it out. Whatevers. 

ANYWAY, I need to go get ready for the day because Aric will be here in an hour and a half, I promise I'll post a real post later, but for now here, have my makeup/outfit from clubbing this week!!

Yeah, it was for goth night... but, we have a black light and I felt like being obnoxious, what can I say? 

Once again with the ripped tights and my signature (haha) black boots, along with my signature heart shaped sunglasses.

Clubbing outfit post/Collections

Okay, so I know I haven't posted the strawberry cookie recipe yet buuuuut... I'll do it very soon. I promise!! Anyway, went out last night (yay! i NEVER go out!) to a local club for "goth night". That's the only night I'll go haha. It was a lot of fun, Aric and I hadn't been since sometime last year and we were too afraid to dance with eachother back then so... this was a new experience for us! It was fun though :) 

Here's what I wore:

Zebra makeup and black and blue feathers in my hair!

Annnd the outfit. It was pretty funny because I was wearing three pairs of tights, two on my legs, and one on my arms as a bolero! (This is super easy, once i can get my hands on a new pair of tights I'll show you how!) I ended up tucking the necklace down my shirt though because I was afraid it was going to hit me in the face but... its the thought that counts, right?

These are my current dolls. The one on the left is my mom's twin, and the one of the right (my first one ever!) is my twin. I love them so... 

I also collect hoops (like hula hoops) because I hoop dance, but... for some reason I can't find a picture of them. I'll take one soon and show you, I promise. But... I have four for real ones, and two "little kid' hoops from walmart haha. What do you guys collect??

Not-so-lazy sunday afternoon

First of all, I want to say thanks to all my new followers! Seriously guys, I really appreciate it! When I first started this blog I thought no one would read it because... well... I guess because I know what's going on in my life and I don't find it too interesting! But... I'm glad you guys do! So thank youuuuu! 

This weekend has been a busy one. My step-dad left for two years (he's in the military) in Tennessee, so mom and I have been busy trying to rid the house of "man-smell" and making the house all girly. Tonight Aric and I are going to visit my friend Preston who is a total sweetheart and is currently battling tissue cancer in his shoulder. (He's only 17!) He's so brave and has a great attitude about it all, I'm so proud of him! Anyway, we're bringing him cookies and brownies (I'm going to post my strawberry cookie recipe tomorrow for you guys! Its yum to the max, I promise!) and going to hang out with him and watch Miss America. I'm so excited. I love Preston so much, he's probably the closest thing I've ever had to a brother, and Aric and I call him our son haha. 

In other news, I'm going to post later tonight about things that I collect because... I love to know what other people collect, so I'm going to tell you guys what I do! (I didn't realize until I sat down and thought about it how much I collect.) Annnnnd I SHOULD have a tutorial up by the end of the week! I have to fix my sewing machine... sad face.

How has your weekend been lovelies??

I can't believe its taken me this long to do an outfit post. There's got to be something wrong with that. Anyway, this is actually yesterday's outfit but... who cares. Today's outfit currently consists of skinny jeans, a tank top, and pink fuzzy slippers so... not so exciting. 

Yesterday looked liiiiike:

White men's shirt, dark skinny jeans, belt, and black sequined flats you can't see. 

It was fairly chilly yesterday and I was going to the doctors in the afternoon, so... it ended up being a good outfit because I stayed warm against the weird weather, and it was comfy enough that I didn't care that I was laying on a table waiting for my doctor to come in for 45 minutes. Snore. (They're SUPER slow there...) 

In other news, in the photo you can see my beloved chair and my new flag garland above my window!! Yay! Today I'm working on more things for the room, snuggling with my cat, making yummy tea-lattes, drawing, and then later working on music with the boy.

Hey pumpkins! 

I'm feeling all inspired now (what a good feeling) because I just spent a good chunk of my day getting up the facebook/myspace/twitter for StarCookie, a 3 person industrial band I belong to. Aric is really "the leader of our band" seeing as how he's actually a musician and goes to school for it. So... that was a lot of fun. We have a song up and everything! I'm such a proud mama cat. This band has been a LONG time in the making. Yay!

In other news, I converted a men's shirt into a cute peasant shirt yesterday and made myself a flag garland for above my window. Both are very cute, so expect photos soon and hopefully a tutorial of the shirt! (it was super easy and its super cute).

I've become obsessed with sand dunes. I think its my new favorite inspiration. They make me want to be in a traveling gypsy caravan or something... not sure what that's about... so here have some pretty dune photos!!! (As usual, all via http://weheartit.com/ )

Weekend recap! (Mother's day edition)

Wow... so... I haven't posted for QUITE a while. I've been doing this thing where I try to post daily but... I majorly fell off the bandwagon this week. This weekend was my mom's birthday (Saturday) and Mother's day so we did a lot of fun things! We antiqued on Saturday, and then on Sunday we went strawberry picking! We had lots of fun but I'm not so sure the strawberries were ready to be picked because some of them are still pretty sour. Oh well!

She stole the camera halfway through and attacked me with photos. It was mysteriously cold this weekend!!

NEXT! 

So, yesterday, Aric and I took a day trip to the outer banks to antique and such. It was tons and tons of fun! We found some sand dunes (I'm in love. There will be many photos/films done out here by me in the future, just wait and see...) and climbed up to write. It was so pretty!!

Yesterday's outfit, minus the awesome feathers around my ankles that I took off because of the sand. I've officially decided my new style is "hippie goth". We'll see how this one works out... In other news, if you can't tell I accidentally died my hair dark. Ooops... its darker than it looks in the pictures, but it shines purple so I think I'm okay with it. But I'll be back to normal when it fades!! 

This was such a great weekend/tuesday! I had lots of fun, ate lots of fruit, and got hired to scoop ice cream! (haha) How fun!! Now I'm off to do my makeup and sew all day!

Well.... 

Today was my mommy's birthday! We went and had tea yesterday to celebrate and then this morning we got up and went to that hour-away-antiquing-spot I wrote about a little while ago. So much fun!! I was VERY excited because that meant I got to drop $20 on my new friend! Normally I wouldn't have spent that much on something, however... I've been pretty much dreaming of this little lady! Aric and I are going back down there on tuesday and hitting all the antique stores on the way so I'm pretty sure by tuesday night/wed. morning's post I'll have a new kitty friend (or two) to show you! Here's my new kittie teapot! She's sitting proudly on my cat shelf. I'm not so sure what to name here though, what do you think? I'm feeling something along the lines of "Gwendolyn" but that's my dress form's name so I can't do that!!

(she's a whole lot cuter than she looks... my room was just really dark and flash does weird things sometimes.) 

Tomorrow for mother's day mom and I are going to an art faire. So much fun!! What did you guys do this weekend? Anyone go thrifting or antiquing??

I'm redecorating!!!!!!

Yep, that's right, its that time again! (okay,.... actually the last time it was "that time" was like... 3 years ago, but I digress.) So... my room in a word was horrid. Yeah. Awful. Messy, stacks of crap everywhere, clothes all over the place, a drafting board sitting mysteriously in the middle of my room--bad. 

See? And the worst part is it was half done being clean at this point. Yeah. AWFUL. Oh my gosh. SO, I got all of my books out of my room and into the garage, got rid of my desk, three of my bookshelves, and I'm going to paint the drafting board to have jelly fish on it and put it in another room and I got a papasan chair!!!! All time favorite thing. If I could marry a chair... it would be a papasan, specifically the one I now own. SO, without further ado, I would like to introduce you to my new unfinished room!!!!

Please excuse the weird filter I had on my camera.... Anyway, like I said its still in progress, as in not even kinda finished, but... yeah. By the time I'm done my dressform won't be in my room either but... it is for now, and I'm just going to have to deal with her. 

Mmmmm pretty new chair with flowery pillows!!! I'm so in love with this chair you guys, its ridiculous. My kittens and I (and Aric) are enjoying this chair very much! Especially since Abby (a.k.a. "girl cat") and I can fit at the same time!! She's being all cute and snuggly right now, I've never seen her more comfortable than in this chair. Anyway, I have so many plans for my new room! I can't wait to show you guys all the things I'm going to be working on!

Greetings from Georgia!!

I'm enjoying my trip, but... I fly home tonight and it all seems much too short. I wish I had gotten more of a chance to take photos. I was going to take photos today but... its supposed to thunderstorm all day so... guess that's out of the question. I DID manage to get some shots off yesterday though before the gallery opening (which went GREAT by the way!) Here are just a few of them!

Hey there pumpkins!!

Sooo... I'm in Georgia right now! I'm visiting with my dad and stepmom because she just graduated today with her MBA and they're opening their art gallery tomorrow!! Very exciting stuff. I took some photos around the gallery today (we had a preview) and I'm sure I'll take more tomorrow at the actual opening and... I plan on sneaking out tomorrow morning to take some more photos. They live kinda in the middle of nowhere and there's all this pretty land all around them and... I'm in love with it. So... yeah.. I think in the morning before we go to breakfast I'm going to shower, get dressed and take a walk and get some photos. Its really lovely here, I can't wait to share it with you!! In the mean time, have a pretty field photo from somewhere in Georgia via (as usual) weheartit which... if you haven't checked out you should, its fantastic. 

I'm feeling pretty inspired guys, so I'm off to write some poetry!! What are you cats up to this weekend??
